The Southampton University Liquid Rocket Engine (SULRE) team is a student team of at the University of Southampton, whose goal is to advance student rocketry achievements at our university through the design, manufacture and testing of custom rockets. Our aim is to inspire students to enter the space industry and succeed in rocketry competitions. Founded in 2021, we have rapidly grown with vital support from the university, our mentors, and our sponsors. In 2023, we won the UK national Race to Space competition and we aim to compete again this year with a more ambitious and sophisticated engine design. The team has drastically expanded since our 2023 success, and we are now working on our own launch vehicle, Comet 1, which will integrate the engine we have developed, with the aim to fly at the EuRoC rocketry competition in Portugal this coming October.

Mach 24 is a group of students who are designing and manufacturing a rocket capable of reaching an apogee of 3km. Our rocket, Angel Interceptor, is our current design for the Mach 24 competition. This competition is aimed at university students to help develop technical skills, by giving them the opportunity to develop working rocketry. We use various software to iterate our designs quickly and effectively, teaching technical skills to students outside the course scope.
