Eurobot is a Second Year UG design activity where students, working in groups of five, design one or two autonomous robots that compete against each other in a pick and place timed exercise.Teams deploy a systems design approach using advanced manufacturing techniques, which involves the use of CAD, laser cutting, 3D printed parts, wiring and soldering. As well as advanced programming in ‘C’ and Python.
Teams are rewarded for innovation, manufacturing quality, reliability and points scoring capability.
Created in 1998, Eurobot is an international amateur robotics contest open to teams of young people, organised either in student projects or in independent clubs. Eurobot takes place in Europe, but also welcomes countries from other continents.
