This traversing structure spans between a sloping concrete retaining wall and an adjacent building. It has been designed to be both visually lightweight and to minimise material use. Its lattice form provides lateral stiffness, helps negotiate the conflicting site geometries, and utilises the bending forces in its plywood members. Tension wires complete the structural concept of limiting the forces transferred to the site supports.
