This traversing structure spans between a window cill and an opposing retaining wall and consists of two component parts. The first is a triangulated aluminium frame designed to provide lateral stability, leaning away from the fragile surface of the adjacent window and supporting the second component, a spanning beam. The beam is constructed from two aluminium channel sections, mechanically fixed back-to-back so that they work together as one member acting in bending orientated about its major axis, and yet spaced apart to accommodate connection details.
