The Soundseeking Robot design project is a second-year challenge that tasks a team of five students with integrating their expertise in mechatronics, acoustical design, control systems, and embedded programming to design, build, and test a robot that seeks out and moves toward a sound source, stopping in close proximity.

Each team is provided with an identical kit containing batteries, motors, microphones, and an Arduino set. The robots are tested in the anechoic chamber at the University of Southampton Campus, where their performance is evaluated.
